Ardleigh St Mary's CEVC Primary School has received its Academy Order from the Department of Education and is set to join our trust in the Spring Term. This expansion will make Ardleigh St Mary's the sixth member of Canonium Learning Trust, a testament to our commitment to providing exceptional education and fostering collaboration across our network of schools. The addition of Ardleigh St Mary's brings new opportunities for collaboration, shared learning, and collective growth. The Canonium Learning Trust's annual conference, held on Monday, September 4th, 2023, at the picturesque Prested Hall, was a resounding success. Pupils at Canonium Learning Trust Schools have exhibited remarkable resilience having attained exceptional results in their Key Stage 2 Standard Assessment Tests (SATs). Even in the face of ongoing challenges presented by the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, pupils have consistently excelled in their academic performance. These remarkable achievements serve as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the schools within Canonium Learning Trust community, as they strive to provide the very best quality education and foster a genuine enthusiasm for learning among their pupils. The latest government data reveals that nationally, the proportion of 10- and 11-year-old pupils meeting the expected standard in reading, writing, and maths combined remains stagnant at 59%, the same as the 2022 results. However, it is important to note that this national figure has declined from 65% in 2019, underscoring the enduring impact of disrupted learning experiences caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. S

We are delighted to share news that St. Andrews Primary School, Marks Tey, is set to become a part of the Canonium Learning Trust in the upcoming Autumn Term of this year. This development marks a significant milestone for both the school and our trust-wide community. With the addition of St. Andrews, our trust will encompass a total of five schools, which extends our capacity to exchange knowledge and expertise among our teachers, leaders and support staff, further enhancing our ability to provide exceptional education to all our pupils. The new partnership will foster increased collaboration, opportunities for professional development, and valuable connections with a broader network of dedicated educators. St Andrews received its Academy Order earlier this year, having gained full support and approval from the Department for Education (DfE), the Diocese of Chelmsford and the Local Authority to join the Canonium family of Schools.

Canonium Learning Trust has recently completed the installation of modern, energy efficient, LED lighting systems in two of its schools: Stisted Primary Academy and Tolleshunt D'Arcy St Nicholas Primary Academy. This significant upgrade was made possible through the allocation of additional schools' capital grant from the Department for Education (DfE), specifically designated for energy efficiency projects. The installation of LED lighting has brought about a remarkable transformation within these schools, creating brighter and more inviting learning environments. Stisted Primary Academy, which is part of Canonium Learning Trust, has achieved another outstanding rating in all areas during its recent Ofsted inspection. The small village school near Braintree, which has 104 pupils aged 4-11, has maintained its outstanding status for 15 years.  Head of school Dannielle Welsman with dog Basil and executive headteacher Martin Hawrylak Ofsted inspectors praised the school for providing an “exceptional education”, its support for children with special educational needs, and the school’s warm and caring environment. Inspectors also noted the opportunities the school provides for children to flourish and become confident, active citizens. Teachers were also singled out for delivering interesting lessons that made children think hard.
