Stisted CofE Academy Secures Capital Funding Amid National Decline in Successful Applications

Stisted CofE Academy, a proud member of Canonium Learning Trust, is pleased to announce the successful approval of its capital funding bid for a vital boiler replacement project. Despite a decline in successful applications across the education sector, the academy's bid was approved, ensuring continued safety, sustainability, and uninterrupted learning for its students.

The funding approval comes at a critical time as the education sector grapples with challenges posed by aging infrastructure and escalating building material costs. According to recent analysis, there has been a 25% drop in successful repair bids compared to the previous year, with only a third of the submitted bids receiving approval.

"Our success in securing capital funding amidst a decline in successful applications underscores the urgent need for investment in our school infrastructure," said Mr. Martin Hawrylak, Executive Headteacher of Stisted CofE Academy. "We are grateful for the support of Canonium Learning Trust and our partners at Ingleton Wood, whose collaboration has been instrumental in ensuring the success of this project."

Kevin Panrucker, Chief Financial and Operating Officer at Canonium Learning Trust, emphasised the importance of strategic financial management in supporting schools during challenging times. "As stewards of education resources, we recognise the critical role that capital funding plays in maintaining and enhancing school infrastructure and our commitment to providing financial support to projects like the boiler replacement at Stisted CofE Academy reflects our dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of pupils and staff."

The overall project cost is estimated at £328,000, with Canonium Learning Trust generously contributing 15% (£49,200) towards the funding. This significant investment reflects the trust's unwavering commitment to providing exceptional learning environments across its network of schools.

"The decline in successful applications highlights the pressing need for increased investment in school infrastructure," said Kevin. "We remain dedicated to supporting our schools and ensuring they have the resources they need to deliver outstanding education to our students."

The boiler replacement project aligns with Canonium Learning Trust's strategic vision and commitment to sustainability. By investing in modern, energy-efficient heating solutions, the Trust aims to reduce its environmental footprint while providing students with valuable opportunities to engage with sustainable practices.

With construction scheduled to commence in the summer of 2024 and completion anticipated in the spring of the following year, Stisted CofE Academy looks forward to the successful implementation of this transformative project, which will ensure a safe, comfortable, and sustainable learning environment for generations to come.
